Our delicious flavors will bring forth good health from within your body. Our hot spring, sauna, and esthetic salon will invite you to experience relaxation. And all of this can be found in Yufuin, the ultimate location. Sense nature and return to nature, but also the many luxuries that nature alone cannot provide. ONSEN

Yufuin is a hot spring resort counted in the top class in Japan in terms of the number of hot spring sources and the volume of water. And you can enjoy that hot spring water in every room at Enowa. Among them, Enowa-no-Yu, located on high ground, is a rich and gentle bath that transforms to a cobalt blue in certain seasons. We propose a new approach to hot spring enjoyment, with seasonal herbs and medicinal plants floated on the waters to help reset your mind and body.

    The sauna at Enowa is surrounded by a green forest. After sweating freely from the inside out, try our standing cool water bath. Then it is time to find balance. Lie on a chair on the wooden deck, listen to the breath of the forest and the singing birds, and enjoy the exceptional scenery of Yufuin beyond the sea of greenery.

    Come here to enjoy your welcome drink at Enowa. The counter at the Farm Bar is watched over by bountiful plants. Choose your drink for the day, such as one of our herb cocktails, and head over to our glass house or the garden with your libation in hand. Your expectations for the time to come will expand in your heart.

  • Indoor Garden

    Our Indoor Garden located adjacent to the reception desk serves to relax our travel-weary guests when they arrive. Here we offer for your observation seasonal herbs and plants, and fresh and vibrant vegetables harvested that day from Enowa Farm, in this space designed to evoke a sense of the cycle of nature.

  • Working Garden

    The Working Garden is where freshly harvested vegetables are stored, and where we produced smoked goods and compost. The Working Garden is just one of the places that gives birth to the delicious flavors of Enowa. We also offer our guests opportunities to interact with the plants and dig in the soil with hoes and shovels here.

  • Tsubaki Walk

    Here where camellia flowers bloom like red lanterns among glossy green leaves, we have created a hill path of camellia flowers cultivated carefully to take advantage of this variety’s natural origins on sloping lands. The Japanese name for camellia, Tsubaki, is said to originate with the phrase, Tsuyayaka na Ha, or “glossy leaves”, and this hill path of Tsubaki brings colorful joy to the wintertime.

  • Herb Garden

    The Herb Garden offers you an experience of changing seasonal colors, but also a chance to try harvesting the herbs as well. Here we grow the same herbs used in the restaurant according to the theme of “food”. This garden, where the bounty of nature is grown with vigor, is filled with the vibrancy of life, with water basins fed by underground water sources and stepped flower beds using Yufu stone.

  • Healing Garden

    The Healing Garden is a place where you can sense the transition of life within a forest grove, listen to the beat of your heart in resonance with nature, and experience the abundant beauty of the rich natural flora of the seasons in Yufuin. There are several points of interest arranged throughout the slope where you can take a break during a walk. Enjoy your moment of healing relaxation here.

  • Sakura Walk

    Several cherry trees, or Sakura, were already to be found in the forest of Enowa in the beginning. We prepared this cherry blossom gallery as a relaxing spot for the springtime using a design that makes clever use of those cherry trees. The result has become an ideal spot to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms. Enjoy a moment in this gallery enjoying the cherry blossoms in full bloom and as the rain down like snow during the springtime.

Tourist Spot

Yufuin is located in the central part of Oita Prefecture. A never-ending procession of tourists come to the town here to enjoy traditional scenery that survives from the Showa period. We also recommend taking leisurely walks through the quiet countryside or around Lake Kinrin as you look up at the seasonal beauty of Mt. Yufu.

  • LAKE KINRIN

    Lake Kinrin, or literally “Golden Scales”, is named for the sight of the scales of the fish swimming in the lake glowing golden in the light of the setting sun. Both pure fresh spring waters and hot spring waters are said to flow into the lake, making the water warm throughout the year and creating a fantastical sight on early mornings in the winter as steam rises up from the lake surface.

  • MT. YUFU

    Reaching a height of 1,584 meters above sea level, Mt. Yufu rises to the north east of Yufuin. The mountain is also known as Bungo Fuji for the beautiful shape featuring dual peaks. The mountain was worshiped in ancient times as a place where gods reside, and numerous legends and stories about the mountain remain to this day. It is also a popular destination for year-round mountain climbing.
